Tell A F****** Story!

Updated: Mar 31

So you want to be a famous band?

How do you get there? Do you need to make music that's better than everyone else's? Yeah, maybe, but guess what...

"GOOD" music is subjective!!!

I often listen to the hot, new tracks on Spotify and think to myself, "What the hell is this shit?!"

The music is trash, yet it is being played EVERYWHERE and racking up thousands, hundreds of thousands and even millions of listens. The cool thing about music in general is that even though much of this music is "trash," it's only trash to me. My interests, background and what forms me as a person draws me to different music.

And that's okay!

I tell you all that to tell you this: as an artist you need to do 2 things very well if you ever have a hope at becoming "famous."

First, you need to use similar concepts to what is currently popular. Sure, I LOVE the band Chicago from the 1970s, but if I were to make music that sounded like that today, I would likely not be in the Top 40. Listen to what is currently being played and considered "popular."

Second, use your music to tell YOUR STORY. Make your band about your brand! We all have unique experiences and backgrounds. Fuse that into your music. There is only one you! TELL YOUR STORY OF HOW YOU BECAME, YOU!. This can truly separate you from the pack and get you noticed.

If you are interested about making you band about your brand, shoot me an email because I'd love to chat with you.
